Every spring I get a real kick out of watching the Boston Marathon.  This year, it was on April 20^th and my husband and I were warming up in Florida, so I honestly forgot about it!  It turns out that I missed one of the best parts of any Boston Marathon…

Just two miles from the finish line, a runner named Devin Asher noticed that an exhausted runner nearby had collapsed.  He could have just run by and hoped someone else would help the guy -- hey, he was doing great!  But Devin stopped and helped the man, Carlos Gomez, get to his feet and then even supported him as they walked together toward the finish line. 

When Carlos couldn’t walk anymore, another runner noticed and he, too, gave up the race to help Devin carry Carlos across the finish line.  These two caring men man not have won the race, but their actions inspired millions because of the many, many photos of them that went viral. 

The media called it an act of amazing sportsmanship; I call an act of light-bearers!
