No Need to Worry! Sharing My Journey to the Holy Land

Hi Everyone,

I was going to add this to Friday’s post – but I’ve heard from so many people who are worried that I’m in Israel right now, that I decided to post it right away.

Please be assured that neither I nor anyone from our church group is in Israel right now. Before Ash Wednesday, I posted an explanation about this on my website blog – and I honestly thought I’d posted it on Facebook, too – but I never noticed that the Facebook post didn’t “take”.

So, here is what I wrote:

"A few years ago, I went on one of the greatest adventures of my life. Me, my daughter, our pastor and a group of 40 or so friends from my church traveled to Israel.

I’d always had a hunger to see what the places in the bible really looked like… and while TV series’ like “The Chosen” are amazing in their portrayal of the characters, their homes and the land… there is nothing on earth like seeing it for Yourself, up close. (No, it’s NOT the same – in many places the important stuff lies underneath a church! But it’s there!)

So, over the next six weeks or so, I plan to blog at least three times a week and share some of my pictures and stories with you.

Ever wonder what the sea of galilee looks like? Or the hill where Jesus taught the beatitudes? Or the house where He lived as a child? The streets of Israel where He carried the cross? Or… and here’s a weird one – the skull of Adam? It’s all there – and I’ve got the pictures coming soon!"

I actually downloaded all of the pictures and created the narrative as soon as we got home, so that I wouldn’t forget anything. But, until now, I’d only shared them with friends from our journey and family… This year, I decided it was time to share this special time with other people who might be interested, especially during Lent…

My deepest thanks to everyone who was concerned – I, too, would worry about anyone I knew in Israel right now. In fact, I pray for the people we met, and especially for our guide, Leo who wants everyone to see how wonderful Israel really is. Please don't worry -- and keep coming back... It only gets better from here!
