Tough Times

The past few weeks have been very tough on our society. In just a short time, we’ve witnessed a
school shooting at the Annunciation Catholic School in Minnesota and the murder of Charlie
Kirk. It stands to reason that people would wonder: ‘Where were these Light-bearer you talk
about when this happened?
The truth is, they were right there – we just didn’t know it. Last week a favorite speaker of mine
on Hallow, Jeff Cavins, who lives in Minnesota, explained that when the school shooting began,
not only did the teachers immediately take charge – which saved so many lives – but many of the
older students, surely without a second thought, jumped on top of the younger kids to shield
them from the bullets. For the most part, these are the kids who were wounded. Light-bearers
all,
And what about Charlie Kirk? He himself was a light-bearer. Nope, he wasn’t perfect – but
none of us are. Still, he dedicated his life – and ultimately gave it – to sharing his faith and
beliefs. It’s hard to admit, but since his death millions of people are walking around quoting
Charlie’s “God, Family, Country” mantra. And thousands who once walked away have gone
back to church. So yes, Charlie Kirk was not perfect – but the light that he was able to bring to
others will continue to glow and inspire for a long, long time.
The Light will always shine brightly through the darkness.
